We removed the old oak cabinets and rebuilt the kitchen around espresso shaker cabinets with stainless pulls and a new center island. Granite counters went in with an undermount double-bowl sink and a pull-down faucet, along with a gray subway tile backsplash. The old fluorescent fixture came out in favor of recessed lighting, and the homeowner’s own stainless appliances were installed to finish the room.
