We gutted the bathroom down to the studs, removed the soffits and rebuilt it around a new tub with a waterproofed tile surround, a mosaic niche and a frameless glass panel. A floating double vanity with two vessel sinks replaced the old one, with the plumbing, outlets and switches relocated to suit. Large-format black tile went down on the floor with black grout, white tile with white grout on the tub walls, and new lights, baseboards, drywall, texture and paint finished the room.
